CAL MEETING-JUNE

Our next CAL meeting is on June 4 at Woodland Pond beginning at 7:00pm. In addition to being our next regularly scheduled business meeting for Directors and Parent Reps, this is also our annual Coaches meeting. All teams should send at least one coach (preferably your head coach) to the meeting. We will spend the first part of the meeting talking with the coaches going over rules changes and answering any questions. The coaches will then be free to leave if they want. We will then have our CAL business meeting.

CAL TRAINING

The annual CAL clinic will be held on May 21 at the Salisbury Country Club (inside the club not on the pool deck) beginning at 6:00pm.

How to use the meet manager and team manager software, including how to upload meet results to the website.
A discussion on how to run a successful meet. All those on your team that are responsible for working with the computer software or with running your meets should plan to attend.

Training for Referees, Starters, and Strokes and Turns officials. We have two opportunities for training. At each training, we will spend some time discussing the proper way to officiate each of the strokes and then we will move poolside to “practice” officiating during the mock meet. Please strongly encourage all returning, new, and potential officials to attend one of the two sessions.

On Saturday June 1, we will have training at Woodland Pond during their mock meet. The training will begin at 8:00am on the pool deck.
On Monday June 3, we will have training at Queensmill during their mock meet. The training will begin at 5:00pm on the pool deck.

Annual Scholarship

The Chesterfield Aquatic League (CAL) will award two $1,000 scholarships at the 2013 Champs swim meet. One award will go to a graduating high school senior girl and the other
to a graduating high school senior boy.

Complete applications must be submitted to Tim Faherty not later than July 1. Submissions may be made electronically to , via U.S. mail to 11913 Longfellow Drive, Midlothian, Virginia 23112, or in person at any CAL function.
